11 June 2010 : Catecar is proud to announce that Bobst SA in Prilly, world leader in equipment for the packaging industry, (www.bobstgroup.com) has offered Catecar industrial support in the form of consultancy and suggestions for manufacturing processes of MDi vehicles in Switzerland.

The Bobst Group, which is known for its expertise in industrialisation processes, applies a policy for protecting the environment, not only as part of its activities, but also in a general way, and, furthermore, is keen to encourage new industrial activities in Switzerland.

7 June 2010 : At the end of May Catecar brought together the Swiss industrial and marketing specialists required to launch the pre-industrial production phase of the Airpods.

However, we are still lacking the initial financing required to manufacture, 4-5 months later (time to set up the production equipment), 135 Airpods per month. Therefore, production will not be able to start during summer 2010, as hoped.

May 10 2010 : GOODS NEWS. MDI's application for a European Certification of the first model of AirPod has now come to fruition. Among the member states of the EU, the Luxembourg Government has taken the initiative to certify a vehicle powered by Compressed Air.

The Department of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure of Luxembourg (SNCH) and Luxcontrol have issued the first Official Certificate of Roadworthiness for the AirPod. The European expansion phase for AirPod is underway within the other member states of the EU Commission.

March 1st, 2010: Neither MDI nor Catecar will be present at the 80th International Motor Show of Geneva. All our efforts are focused on launching production in Switzerland.

The project in Switzerland is going ahead but more slowly than anticipated. Production should start during summer 2010 and not in March-April.

December 8, 2009: Catecar SA has used the rent option on the space of the Swissmetal plant n°2 in Reconvilier where MDI vehicles will be built from the end of March 2010.

November 24, 2009: The Swiss press has widely reported and welcomed the agreement between MDI and EPFL.

November 23, 2009 : MDI and Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne sign a cooperation agreement on research at the EPFL concerning production and storage of compressed air. On this occasion, a presentation to the press about the challenges regarding the energy of compressed air is held on the campus of the EPFL, along with demonstration of the AirPod.

August 2009 : On Thursday, August 13, 2009, Catecar SA signed a rent option on industrial space of about 7'000 sqm in Reconvilier (Jura, Switzerland).

Should this option, valid until December 15, 2009, were to be eventually used, the first production plant would therefore be based in bernese Jura, ideally located in the middle of Switzerland. This would allow to start manufacturing Airpod during the first semester of 2010.

This solution has been selected for now over the building of a plant in Courgenay (Jura, Switzerland). This way, precious time is gained and initial costs are logically cut down.

March 2009 : The compressed air cars have been the event of the International Car Show of Geneva from March 5th to March 15th, 2009.

Swiss and international media, as well as the visitors, have bombarded the MDI booth with thousands of pictures. More than 300 Swiss people have already shown their interest and registred in order to get an Airpod or an Oneflowair, whose production is scheduled for Spring 2010.
